Why this role exists now

Today the CEO and the protocol engineers do first-pass due diligence between everything else. Reviews take longer than they should, hand-offs to legal and formation slip, and good projects lose interest while they wait.

We need one person who owns the whole project journey and is accountable for its speed and quality.

The role

You own every project row in the pipeline from first call to launch-ready. You are the Main Lead on each project: you decide, with the team, what advances and what does not; you tell the founder; and you drive the project through due diligence, the Curation Committee, the legal thread with counsel and formation, until the auction can run.

You are not a pure analyst and not a pure BD person. The job is to make decisions faster without lowering the bar, and to make the process behind them repeatable so it no longer depends on the CEO.

You report to the CEO. You work daily with the protocol engineers (technical assessment), growth (traction and go-to-market validation), the legal lead and external counsel, and the Curation Committee.

What you will do

Screening and due diligence

  • Run a first screen on every inbound project within 48 hours of the onboarding form, using the form, the one-pager and AI-assisted tooling, and give each project a clear next step or a clear no.
  • Lead structured due diligence across team, product, tokenomics, traction, go-to-market and legal exposure, and write the memo the team and the Curation Committee decide on.
  • Pull in the engineers for deep technical review only where a claim needs it, and growth for traction and go-to-market validation, so their time is spent on the few projects that deserve it.
  • Assess whether a project wants to stay on Umia for governance and treasury, not only use the launchpad.

Project shepherding

  • Be the single point of contact for every founder in the pipeline. Every project knows its status, its owner and its next date; a parked project hears it from you, not from silence.
  • Run the legal thread with the legal lead and counsel: brief counsel, open the legal group, get the written conditions to the founder, and chase every owed item with an owner and a date.
  • Drive projects through portal setup, configs, formation and launch-ready sign-off, coordinating engineers, growth and counsel so launch dates hold.

Pipeline system

  • Own the pipeline as a system: the CRM and funnel, the task tracker, the weekly pipeline review, and the written workflow from onboarding form to launch-ready.
  • Build the AI-assisted layer: screening prompts and agents, memo templates, automated chasing and reporting, so throughput grows without headcount.
  • Report the pipeline weekly to the CEO and the team: what is advancing, what is blocked, where time is being lost.

Sourcing and ambassadors

  • Qualify referrals from the Ambassador Program and partners, and feed back to them what fits.
  • Proactively bring in a small number of high-fit projects a quarter from your own network.

Who we are looking for

Must-haves

  • 4+ years in crypto with real due diligence reps: you have run a launchpad, accelerator, fund or ecosystem funnel and taken projects from intake to a decision, repeatedly.
  • You can read tokenomics, a cap table, a SAFE and a token grant, and tell a vibe-coded demo from a real product. You know when to call an engineer and when not to.
  • Operator discipline: you run founders, lawyers and teammates on a cadence, with owners and dates, and you chase without being asked.
  • You write well and decisively. A memo from you ends with a verdict and next steps, not a summary.
  • AI-native in how you work: you already use models and agents for screening, research, drafting and follow-up, and you can build a simple workflow or automation yourself. We will test this.
  • Market-aware: you follow what small and mid-cap token holders want exposure to, and you trade or hold tokens onchain.
  • Comfortable in a six-person team where you own outcomes, not tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with token launch mechanics: auctions, vesting, liquidity, listing processes.
  • Exposure to formation and legal structuring for token projects (SPCs, token grants, counsel coordination).
  • A founder network in a region we want to grow in: EU, APAC or LATAM.
  • Familiarity with decision markets and futarchy governance.
  • You have been a founder, or sat close to one.
  • You are based in Milan or open to relocating to Milan, Italy.
